Everything we create becomes obsolete sooner or later. However, this is not a reason to avoid creating it.
If we don’t take action, someone else likely will. This applies to both scientific breakthroughs and software systems.
If you read about any scientific discovery, more often than not, the scientist had to rush with their paper because someone somewhere in the world was working on a similar theory, e.g. Darwin.
We reward and recognise those who come first, hence the saying, 'If you’re not first, you’re last'.
However, this is not always the case. History has shown that some discoveries, originally credited to one person, were later attributed to someone else, e.g.
Since external recognition is beyond our control, it should not determine whether we take action.
Create because your soul urges you to, not for external validation.
