Daily Affirmations are a fantastic way to program the mind in a conscious and positive way.
But there's another powerful tool:
Evidence stacking.
How it works:
Affirmations are statements we believe, or want to believe, about ourselves or the world.
Evidence is the proof we gather to support those beliefs.
When we pair a thesis with concrete evidence, we strengthen it.
We turn belief into identity.
Affirmation: I am a writer.
Evidence: I wrote a book.
Affirmation: I am a confident and eloquent public speaker.
Evidence: I gave a speech to a large audience, and wasn't booed off stage (better yet, I got a standing ovation).
Affirmation: I am becoming more healthy.
Evidence: I’ve been eating well, avoiding junk, and exercising consistently for over a year.
This helps you consciously direct your beliefs, rather than letting society, social media, or TV dictate them for you.
