When was the last time you failed?

Failing is important. Yet, our education system has conditioned many of us, consciously or subconsciously, to avoid failure.

In school, we are taught a lesson and then given a test. We are judged on how well we've learned the material.

To succeed in school, we simply prepare for the test in advance. If we fail, it’s often seen as a reflection of our worth.

In life, however, things are the other way around. Here, we get the test first.

But failing a life test doesn't make us failures. In fact, failures are often lessons in disguise. The key is to stay open-minded and reflective enough to learn from them.

A question for both you and me:

When was the last time you failed?

If you’re failing all the time, maybe it’s time to ease up on the expectations you place on yourself.

If you can’t recall your last failure, maybe it’s time to challenge yourself more.
